When I was younger, my family made frequent visits to Children's Hospital in Philadelphia to visit a relative. There, I saw several sick children. I realized that I had to do something in order to better the lives of others. I thought of Miracles. The name required a lot of brainstorming. The significance of the name is: everyone can reach their full potential in spite of their disabilities or negative circumstances. It is an idea that goes against the conventional wisdom. Simply too many people are being brushed aside because they may not appear or act "normal" or because their situations are less than optimal. Some of the greatest minds in history were once perceived as different and went on to become extraordinary people. Many of these great minds have been documented to have been disadvantaged themselves. With Miracles, we can encourage these individuals and change perceptions across the globe.
Since we began our operation in September 2008, we and volunteers have worked along with Cooper Hospital, Holy Name School, The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, LEAP Academy, the Camden District Council Collaborative Boards, The Walter Rand Institute, and individuals in Camden looking to make a difference. We look forward to working with more entities in Camden and, most importantly, our partners in order to improve education opportunities in Camden and cities like it.
Since we began Miracles Global, Inc. we have been featured in Rutgers University News, the Courier Post, and the Gloucester County Times. On March 9, 2009, Miracles Global, Inc. volunteers were also featured on 6ABC News during the 6 O'clock news hour.
Miracles Global was awarded Certificates of Achievement from both the Camden City Council and NJ State Legislature for our first School Supply Drive.
We thank you for visiting and look forward to working with you in the future.
God Bless,
